Last month, I was traveling out-of-state with my senior miniature schnauzer when she got sick. The vet clinic in the small town where I was staying recommended a couple emergency clinics, but the first one I called was at capacity and recommended MedVet Dayton. I called to confirm that they could see her and then drove an hour to get here. They took her to the back for examination immediately while I waited in an examination room with my friend and her dog. Dr. Neumann came to talk with us after a short wait to convey bad news and helped me understand that giving my dog a peaceful exit was the most humane thing to be done. The entire time, the staff showed the grace, patience, respect and compassion that was needed on this terrible day. They only ever saw my dog at her very worst, but knew that she was very special, and treated us accordingly.

Tonight I lost my cat Fiona. She was the most unforgettable and unique cat. She got hit by a car. I let her out every once in a while because I have a huge yard and lots of trees, she loved it. Especially in the summer. The staff were amazing. I never told them that my daughter had autism and Fiona was her companion. I couldn’t afford the fee to put Fiona down, so they waived the fee. This place was what we needed during a challenge.

We see Dr. Back with MedVet's oncology department and she has been wonderful with our senior girl, Lola. I truly appreciate that Dr. Back and the rest of the team at MedVet don't just wrote her off due to her age like some others have. We've also had to use MedVet's emergency and euthanasia services over the past couple of years and have found them to be warm and compassionate in all instances.

Caring staff all around.I’ve had three separate experiences (2 cats and one dog) with the care here and I felt my animals were well cared for. One kitty was really sick and needed 24 hour care, they kept me updated through the night and he came home much better.

I was very pleased with the quick attention given my dog, the frequent updates, and the Doctor's explanation and she answered all questions, giving me choices for treatment. She followed up with detailed report from radiologist on x-ray and sent all reports to my vet for follow up treatment. They were very comforting when I needed it, thank you for your kindness.

Med Vet saved my cat’s life. They were kind and caring and were transparent about costs and risks of no treatment. I have used them before and continue to be very satisfied with the care my pets have received. My only feedback is the lights in the waiting room need to be dimmed at night- it would help with the stress that comes with emergency visits.

This place has always been there for me in all sorts of situations. I've had emergencies where they have had to react RIGHT NOW, and they've jumped right in. They have put people before me that have had more urgent situations, and that shows to me that I will be treated the same!! You guys have been compassionate to me beyond words. I'm grateful for all of you. Dr. Przybylski helped me to put down my little black kitten, Manny. He had hydrocephalus really bad, and I thought I could save him. His compassion and words to me, I'll never forget them as long as I live. Thank you Dr., you got me through that, as hard as it was, and I will always be grateful for you in that moment. Please make sure he knows this. Dr. Kuonen Cavens has been wonderful with my Cat, Ramses, she has been taking care of his eye and soon will be doing surgery on it! Story time. My family has a 12 year old American Eskimo who began having seizures. From the moment I called panicking to arrival to billing, the staff at MedVet were exceptional. The receptionist retrieved my data over the phone while my husband drove us to the Hospital. When we arrived my senior puppy was rushed to the back immediately stop the seizures (she was on her 3rd one in a row). The receptionist talked my husband and myself through the steps and after we received our own room. We waited in our own room even though our pup was in observation. I believe this was a correct move as it allowed us to calm down without all the commotion of the busy waiting room around us. We were checked on routinely and given updates. After a few hours, (Yes hours, our dog was having seizures.) we were united with our pup and the doctor proceed to answer every question, and I mean EVERY QUESTION, I could think of... While crying (A lot!!). I was assured that with medication and the continued care we provided this small family member will have many more happy years ahead of her! I cannot speak about MedVet as a whole, but I can speak to this specific location. When our second American Eskimo (the senior dog's daughter) began having seizures we immediately knew where to go and who would give the best care. *Note- Financially speaking Emergeny Veternarian services are expensive. MedVet Dayton location made sure to ask permission and give us live estimates on how much each procedure would cost. Overall they worked with us to keep the bill within our means while making sure to never compromise our animals care or our dignity.

Dr. Esselman provided extraordinary care to Jax during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. She took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening physically, walking us through every option with patience and clarity so we could make the most compassionate decision for him. What meant the most was her empathy. She didn’t rush us, she spent hours with us, answering questions, listening, and making sure we truly understood what Jax was experiencing. When it came time to let him go, she helped ensure he passed peacefully and with dignity. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion made an incredibly painful situation a little easier to bear. We will always be grateful for the care she gave Jax and the support she gave us. I cannot recommend Dr. Esselman highly enough.

Everyone was fantastic! Efficient, caring and communicative. We appreciated the updates via phone. None of our dogs have been hospitalized and I am not sure how the cost compares; we did receive a partial refund for her not needing to stay the entire 48 hours which was helpful. Thankfully she is back to her normal high energy, ball chasing, sweet personality🐾❤️
